Let me preface my response by making two disclaimers:
(1) I am not a lawyer; and
(2) I AM NOT A LAWYER.
(If you've seen "The Producers" you get this.)
But the short answer is: NO. People who produce background tracks do so for a living; the recordings are their products. These recordings are intended for use in live (transitory) performance ONLY; most of these accompaniment track recordings have notices to this effect somewhere in the labeling. To use these recordings as accompaniment tracks on further recordings is pirating (a polite word for stealing) their work. This especially becomes an issue if money is involved. Allegra can produce full instrumental background tracks for reasonable fees, and we would be happy to discuss these services with you.
may I record songs using pre-recorded background tracks?
